Verdict

7.5 Anker Soundcore Life P2

If you look for a pair of earbuds that you can use in office, commuting or even for sports the Life P2 delivers a quality call, decent sound and comfortable fit.

Battery life

My battery test: the Life P2 can last for my entire working day, which is approximately 7 hours.

Package & Accessories

4 pairs of silicon eartips (XS + S + M + L + XL), USB-C charging cable, charging case and a pair of Life P2. There is no extra accessories like sports wings.

The charging case doesn’t have the battery indicator so you won’t know how much battery life is left. While being charged the earbud’s led is ON.

Anker Soundcore Life P2 – the earbuds are situated horizontally in the case, the case’s battery capacity is 700 mAh,

To open the case I have to use both hands, I prefer to open the case with one hand like with a Zippo lighter.

The case though feels a bit cheap, I dropped it a couple of time but it seems having a good build quality.

Pairing

As Get Started guide suggested the case should be charged in 5 min.

Switch on Bluetooth on your phone, check the available devices and touch for pairing. You may be asked again to pair with the Life P2-L earbud. Both R and L earbud can work as the primary one.

The good thing is that whenever I take any bud out of the case, it will automatically connect to my phone (Bluetooth is ON), so I can use a single earbud. If I take out the other they will be synced, and it won’t create annoying moment like other earbuds that I have to pair my phone with the primary bud again.

The Anker SoundCore Life P2 unfortunately don’t support multipoint.

Comfort & Fit

I picked the L eartips that fit pefectly into my ears, the earbuds are lightweight and comfortable. The only thing I feel is the eartip in my ear canal. The noise isolation is also good, the housing and steam don’t touch my ear whereas you will probably encounter this when using smaller eartips.

The Life P2 has a good build quality, and the IPX7 rating is excellent for sports. I did a few long, slow runs and the buds stay put, I never have to fix earbuds position in my ears, that’s a good thing.

The button work flawlessly, the dual mic reduces much the ambient noise if you make a call in noisy streets or offices.

Sound Quality

Each Anker series I think were configured to unique sounding profile and the Life P2 doesn’t exceptionally sound good but some may prefer its sound signature

The sound stage could be a bit wider.

It is a lack of sense that instruments/vocals coming from everywhere

The bass is present, that’s fair enough but I wish it would be deeper and extended to sub-bass. Overall I rate the bass experience is not that satisfactory.

Since the Life P2 doesn’t focus heavily on bass or treble, I could tell its mid-range is following the flat response, but it doesn’t come in full-body and clarity.

I feel the treble missing the clear and bright aspect. Clarity and detail fall short compared to Liberty Air 2.

All in all, considering the price, the Life P2 generally sounds great, deliver impressive call quality that in the price range others are hard to match.
