There are just a few neckband Bluetooth earbuds with ANC competing in the market, among the best including the QuietControl 30, 1MORE Dual Driver ANC PRO (EHD9001BA) and Sony WI-1000XM2. Of which 1More Dual Driver ANC Pro stands out (best value) for their excellent sound quality, pronounced bass, balanced sounding profile, clear treble and when the ANC is ON the bass is a bit elevated.
Huawei just quietly released the Pro version with ANC, the company claims their new neckband headphones can reduce the ambient noise by 40dB theoretically, if this is true its performance is better than the Bose QC 30 just 18dB noise reduction. Along with ANC, the transparency mode is smooth with just “press and hold” the button on L-earbud to trigger, and the call quality is great with 3 mics to reduce the background noise such as windy, traffic noise and enhance the voice.
But in real life’ performance, the ANC depends largely on which sound they cancel out, in other words the frequencies the ANC work best at often in a range of 20Hz-1KHz
Huawei FreeLace Pro’s earbuds get a huge 14.2mm dynamic driver associated with their massive bass, so the bud housings arent’ small, but with sports ear hooks (look much like Bose QC30’s) they stay put in the ear. The eartips gives semi-sealed fit that they doesn’t enter deeply into ear canals – more comfortable experience to users.
Battery life is great, up to 24 hours between charges, but with ANC ON the playback time is 8 hours less, just 16 hours. The fast charging feature is on par with Oneplus Bullets Wireless 2 that just 5 min of charging the earbuds get 5 hours playback time. I also should mention that like its predecessor the Pro version can be recharged with your phones
Watching movies or playing games is also more alive with low-latancy mode that automactially activates when you are engaged in.
The Freelace Pro is avaliable in China in graphite black, white and green for RM 399.00.
