Bose is great at NC tech but they haven’t released their first NC true wireless earbuds yet. Though Sony learnt a lot from Bragi, which has been gone out of business, their first true wireless earbuds released in 2017, the WF-1000X fall short in many categories such as connection stabitility, battery and NC performance.
WF stands for wire free.
Facing stiff competition, Sony just unvailed the next gen of WF-1000X with the name of WF-1000XM3, with many improvements – they sound and fit better and last longer than previous models.
WF-1000XM3’s highlights
- Adaptive Sound Control will detect the sound users hear – and choose to enhance the important sound.
- Inherited cool feature from WH-1000XM3 you tap and hold your finger on the L-earbuds to pause the NC and it gets back on once you release your tap.
- Bluetooth 5.0 with 10 meters range.
- 9 grams each earbuds (almost twice as much as Apple Airpods’ weight) it will look bulkier and you don’t have wear-nothing experience like Airpods)
- Get fully charged in 1.5 hours
- Battery life is 8 hours for music listening and down to 6 hours with with NC on.
- Clear call with dual NC mic that’s crucial for calls – filtering out the noie and capturing voice. I think the WF-1000XM3 combines sound, functions and evertthing you need for a day – commuting, listening to music, business calls and workout even though it’s not sweat-resistant. NC still works while you are making calls that’s good thing because you hear the caller really well.

One thing I like the WF-1000XM3 is two earbuds are not synced to each other like most TWS on the market, instead they are paired with your phone simultaneously and you can just a single left or single right. Which will reduce the latency and if you watch video you would notice.
