In spite of being quite late to TWS market, Sennheiser has the Momentum True Wireless 2 – perhaps best sounding ANC TWS earbuds on the market. Their ACN performance lines up agaisnt Sony WF-1000XM3 – another great pair of TWS and their transparancy mode work flawlessly and their call quality is solid. But their reviews are mixed, mid-range and bass could be the pros but the treble is conversely not clear, detailed leaving this range fairly laid-back.
The CX 400BT inherit the same look with great build quality, sounding profile and drivers from the Momemtum 2 except NC and transparency feature. The number of pins to clip in the charging case is reduced as inlustrated on the photo.
Though the CX 400BT look bigger than Airpods Pro, the first are a tiny bit heavier at 6g grams each compared to 5.4 grams for the later. So I just curious why Sennheiser didn’t slim down the buds and the reason could be to keep the orginal sound from Momentum 2 and cut the cost to remould the housing.
The charging case is lighter and taller than Momentum 2’s, and it provides less playtime for earbuds, just 20 hours compaired to 28 hours.
Unlike the Momentum 2, the CX 400BT supports multipoint that the company claims can pair with up to eight devices, but they are only connected with one device at once.
Powered by Qualcomm QCC5121 SoC (system on chip), the CX 400BT gets SBC, AAC, and aptX support. The SoC can supports 2 microphones for noise reduction cVc Tech while making calls, but it’s not specified how many mics built in earch earbud.
